Sorry you missed out! Check back here for more information on next years berry intensive weekend of discovery, experience, and connection.
AUGUST 4, 5, & 6, 2023
Expert local foragers and wild tenders will cover all the basic must know protocols for foraging sustainably with confidence.
We will have plenty of instructional time where participants can learn all about our native wild berries (and other food/medicine plants). Participants will leave with knowledge to be able to harvest, store, preserve, and propagate our delicious native food plants.
Relax at our secluded private campground guaranteed to calm even the busiest of souls. No cell service at the campground makes it very easy to forget about the stresses of regular life and allows participants to really focus in on the natural world. Minimal street traffic noise and light pollution allow for peaceful nights of stargazing and connection with fellow participants.
Our all inclusive weekend retreat includes meals prepared for the participants. Our menu will be primarily inclusive of natural wild foods, harvested and processed with love by hand by our staff. Meals will be served daily with information about the ingredients- how to identify, find, harvest, and process them- so that participants can learn about the abundant food all around us.

Transportation will be arranged from a yet to be announced rendez-vous point in Redding, CA to the private campgrounds and return. Shuttle will leave Redding by noon on Friday August 4 and return to Redding by 3:00pm on Sunday August 6.
Participants will have to arrange for their own transportation to and from the Redding meet up location. Participants will not be allowed to transport themselves to the campground due to limits on vehicle quantity at the site (less vehicles = less impact on environment). Emergency transportation back to Redding will be covered by the hosts if necessary in the event of any unanticipated accidents.
Any transportation fees are included in the ticket price.
The main instructor for the event will be Kyle Dall, one of the founders of Redding Forager's Association. Kyle has been foraging a large part of his diet for the past 5 years. He leads local foraging and plant ID walks, as well as teaching various processing classes and workshops.
Miranda Hull is another local forager and the other founder of Redding Forager's Association. She has extensive plant knowledge, including advanced propagation and wild tending techniques. Miranda is an expert wild food cook and can make 5 star gourmet meals from any ingredients you give her.
Yes, this is a family friendly event. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult parent or guardian. Kids 12 and under may attend the event free of cost; 13 or older must have their own individual tickets.
